Psychotherapist, Neurofeedback Pioneer
Judy Phillips has been interested in exploring the positive effects of Neurofeedback since 1995 when it changed her life both personally and professionally. Since then, she has been using her post-doctoral knowledge in Cognitive Therapy, Family Therapy, Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, and Co-dependency training , along with Neurofeedback , to bring solace and hope to the lives of her clients. Many of her clients have been to many other types of doctors before they come to see her. They often find that Neurofeedback can help in ways that other therapies and drug treatments have not. She uses psychotherapy in conjunction with Neurofeedback to best help and understand her clients.
Judy has been a licensed psychologist since 1974. She is a certified, neurofeedback provider through the Biofeedback Certification Institute of America (BCIA) and is also a BCIA fellow.
She believes that everyone’s brain works differently, and that neurofeedback can help people function at their optimum. While there are no “defects” in brain functioning, there are things that can be done to make the brain calmer, better regulated, and more focused. Judy works with all ages and a wide variety of issues. She has found that neurofeedback can help improve one’s life regardless of why they come to see her.
She welcomes new clients with a fresh set of eyes and tailors her services to best meet the needs of the individual.
She has been licensed as a psychologist in New York, New Jersey, and California.
As most of us are overwhelmed by the amount of stimulation and information that bombards us daily, we need new tools to help us change our now ineffective survival mechanisms.
Neurofeedback is a natural, non-invasive, way to teach your brain how to automatically respond more effectively. Neurofeedback is exercise for the brain. It makes your brain stronger and more resilient, in the same way as exercise does for the body.
Neurofeedback is all about electrical activity in the brain. Changes in electrical activity in the brain are responsible for your brain functioning well or functioning poorly. Neurofeedback increases your brain’s ability to regulate electrical activity so it can function better which can then change unwanted conditions and allow you to sleep better, stop worrying, more easily accomplish your goals.
Together you and I will find your brain’s optimal electrical activity level (frequency) and affect positive changes naturally, without conscious effort. This process of neurofeedback results in relaxation, a feeling of inner peace and can alleviate undesired states.
As a neurofeedback practitioner, I will help you learn how to re-train your brainwaves without the need of drugs. You can enjoy waking up feeling refreshed and happily looking forward to your day.
